Coffee O’Clock – Bristol’s Best Coffee Shops

One thing Bristol knows how to do right…is caffeine! Bristol is brimming with fabulous coffee shops; so much so we couldn’t simply list them all. So here is a list of our favourite unique cafés and coffee houses for you to enjoy…

Small Street Espresso

This cozy little café on, you guessed it, Small Street, tops many lists for Bristol’s finest coffee. Serving amazing espresso, filter, cakes & sarnies in Bristol’s old city since 2012. Did we mention they roast their own beans on-site?

Harts Bakery

Located on a happening stretch of Stokes Croft, Harts Bakery conjures up a slice of Kiwi café culture with excellent coffee, artisan breads and sweet treats. Whether you’re fancying something sweet or savoury; Harts specialise in sourdough, handmade pastries, seasonal cakes, and savouries. Their goods are prepared, baked and sold all under one roof; so you know you’re getting the highest quality! It’s not every day you find an artisan bakery working out of a Large Victorian railway arch at Temple Meads station!

Baristas

For Bristol’s working crowd, Baristas is a go-to for great coffee on the run. The quaint, let lively café on Victoria Street is the perfect place for fuss-free flat whites, espressos and more. Pop in to grab a quick takeaway cup or post up with your laptop for a work session. Perfect atmosphere, delicious cakes, and their window is always intricately designed with beautiful artwork – the cherry on top!

Playground Coffee House

Tucked away on a quiet lane, this laidback spot serves seriously good coffee sourced from local roasters. Alongside their selection of exquisite drinks, they also offer a range of 150+ board games, swing seats and terrible jokes from the staff (their words not mine!) This quaint little coffee shop also transforms in the evening to a cocktail bar. Using a range of selected ingredients, their Tiki Cocktails will transport you to a tropical paradise! Pull up a chair, or swing!

Ahh Toots

No Bristol coffee tour would be complete without a visit to this iconic, graffiti-adorned café on the stunning Christmas Steps. A vibrant, eclectic vibe fuels the creatives who gather here. The most beautiful Tudor fronted building, with a window now filled with cake. The window display will entice you in whilst the delicious coffees, sweet treats, summer ice creams, breakfast, AND afternoon teas, will make you stay.

Be a Bristol Coffee Connoisseur! These spots should top any coffee lover’s list for savouring Bristol’s incredible brews.
